Why learn it here
Most training companies teach the TOGAF Standard. Ours helped build it, and has been in the room for every version since 1999.
Judith Jones founded this practice and still leads it. She was the first person in the world to be certified in the TOGAF Standard, she has been a contributor and editor across successive versions of it, and she has chaired The Open Group’s TOGAF Certification Standing Committee. Before that she spent more than twenty years as a business manager at ICL, now Fujitsu Services.
That matters in a classroom in a way it does not on a brochure. When a delegate asks why a phase of the ADM is written the way it is, the answer here is first hand rather than second hand. It is also why our courses stay small and why so much of what we do is mentoring rather than lecturing.
Four tracks, one architecture practice.
Architecture is not one skill, it is four working together. The name says so: the four domains an architect has to hold at once. Courses are grouped by what you are trying to build, not by whether you happen to be sitting in a room or at a desk. Every track runs in all three formats.
01Certification
The TOGAF Standard, end to end
Foundation and Practitioner, the bridge for architects already certified, and a short upgrade for anyone whose certification has fallen behind the current version.

Webinar times are published in four time zones so a delegate in Sydney is not sitting down at four in the morning. Face to face courses run where there is demand, and a private course can be scheduled on a date of your choosing.

Buying a seat
Choosing a date opens an enquiry, not a basket. Tell us the course and the sitting and we will confirm availability, price and purchase-order handling by email.
“Enterprise architects are to business systems as town planners are to cities.”
It is the plainest description of the job we know, and it is the one we open every course with. Plan the thing properly and it survives contact with the people who have to live in it.
Three ways in. The same instructors behind all of them.
Format is a scheduling decision, not a quality decision. A webinar cohort gets the same practitioner and the same exercises as a room in Frankfurt does.
Face to face
Public courses where there is demand, and private courses at your offices from five people upwards. Group exercises are the point of being in a room, so that is what the day is built around.
Live webinar
Scheduled across four time zones so nobody has to take a course at four in the morning. Small cohorts, live instructor, and the same exercises run in breakout rather than around a table.
Online, self-paced
Course materials, exercises and exam preparation are issued with the course. Where a course includes an examination voucher, that is stated on the course page.
Learning platform
4 Digital Skills Academy
Course materials, modules and exam preparation live in the Academy. Delegates sign in there with the account set up when they book.
Most of what we do never appears on a schedule.
Private cohorts, architecture practices being stood up from scratch, teams being brought onto one method after a merger, and maturity assessments that tell you where you actually are before anybody books a course.
- Private coursesFrom five people, at your offices or a venue of your choosing, on a date that suits the programme rather than the calendar.
- A curriculum, not a courseCertification, business architecture, modelling and coaching sequenced across a team so people arrive at the right course at the right time.
- Capability and maturity assessmentTwenty process areas decomposed to seventy-eight practices, scored, with documented analysis and a route to the next level.
- Coaching on a live problemA chief architect works alongside your team on something real. You keep the artefacts and the capability, not just the slides.
Published word for word, exactly as given.
Published word for word, exactly as the delegate gave them. Nothing has been tidied, merged or improved, and no attribution has been embellished.
“The instructor had a good knowledge of the enterprise world and knows what works and what doesn’t.”
“The instructor was a repository of knowledge in several sectors, real experience, maturity and he paid attention to detail. I have grown professionally after this training”
